I am the program director for a small college station. Our school has two stations, one a cmj-reporting alt-rock station, and the other which I am the Program Director for which is smaller has a Top 40 format. Up until now we have received records from smaller indie labels and gotten the music we need by paying for it out of our budget. I am though, interested in getting in contact with the bigger labels to receive music and if need be to chart. I'll be honest, I don't know a great deal about this tracking/reporting/ect. process so if anyone has more information about this or any record promoter contacts our station could use, I would really appreciate it.
