Help with station on 1116AM

I was recently in Hawaii and I DXed an english speaking talk station on 1116AM right before Hawaii sunrise. I didn't receive it strong enough to get an ID. I was told that there is a station in Bribane operating on that frequency.
Can anybody tell me whether that fits the discription of what I heard and how much power the station runs and if they use a directional antenna pattern?

Brisbane does have a station on AM 1116: its talk station 4BC.

Alternatively, there's Melbourne's 3AK (SEN 1116), a sports talk station.

4BC seems more likely.

It must have been 4BC because from what little I heard they weren't talking sports.
