thanks, i know radiolocator but it was another site that had a list when you went to the site for some reason i think it had the word stream on the URL

yeah i know but thats all i could see what happened. I had my computer on and was browsing the web and BAM power goes out. happened 4 times in 1 hr.....damn high winds.

Hi everyone:
The Dude said:
Your bookmarks are stored in a LOCAL FILE losing the power shouldnt have any effect!!
Contrary to what may be popular belief, Firefox DOES NOT have this.

JFYI... :D

Cheers :D

Pat

Actually, Pat, it does.

On XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[RANDOMLY ASSIGNED DIRECTORY NAME]\Bookmarks.html

Also, version 2.0.0.1 stores previous bookmark files in a directory (located in the profile folder) called \bookmarkbackups. This may have been the norm since 2.0 was first released, but I hadn't checked at that point.

EDIT: By the way, DJ Hexer, I believe the site you're looking for is The Stream Center.

YESSSSSSSSS Thats it!! thank you verrrrryyyy much :) I just learn now that when we have high winds turn off my computer....or better yet buy a UPS

A UPS and a power conditioner-slash-surge protector would be the best way to go. Just my opinion... that's what I run. Ever since my first PC fried thanks to a surge coming when the power was restored, I haven't given a second thought to not running without any one of them.
