Did anyone hear the segment on Howie Carr's show yesterday when his wife called in and let him have it for wanting to take the dogs on the road and not getting their daughter a job with Larry David?

I'm still trying to figure out if that was planned or he just got side-swiped by her?

It seemed pretty humiliating and I was surprised he let it go on for as long as he did. At least he had the guts to let callers call in and make fun of him after the incident.

He was pretty quiet during it. If it was a planned bit, don't you think he would have argued back to egg her on? He just sat there and took it.

It was great radio though, especially with the callers afterwards.

I missed most of it but someone later on (during Chumpline I think) said it was a setup. "Yeah,"
Howie deadpanned, "We both had scripts."

(Which is something he no doubt DOES have for the 4:50 pm financial segment where he has a list
of questions to ask the expert...maybe he can ad lib a bit but no doubt for this paid segment, they
forward him the questions.)

Howie and Kathy Carr in "The Bickersons"...

>>The Bickersons seemed to have no business being married at all, but they proved the prototype for such battling comic couples as Ralph and Alice Kramden of The Honeymooners... (and) Al and Peg Bundy of Married... with Children. The title couple of the long-running newspaper comic strip The Lockhorns also bear more than a passing resemblance to the Bickersons.

Jerry Seinfeld kept saying very professional sarcastically during th esegment with Howie;s daughter, Will there be a death pool on mOnday for Kevein White the mayor of America and Robert Hegys?

At first I thought that she must have not realized that she was live on the radio but then she called back. What a shrill, awful woman she is. I must say though, the callers remarks to Howie about his wife had me howling.

I heard Howie's interview with Seinfeld and I was actually embarrassed for him. It was one of the worst interviews I have ever heard. He asked if he watched the Jack Benny show when he was younger. He asked if the big budget Broadway shows were a thing of the past. Spiderman? Book of Morman? Is RENT still running on Broadway?

I listen to the Kathy appearance online and it was painful to listen to.

I also thought it was so cheesy to put is daughter on to ask Seinfeld to get her a job. He must have been thinking who is this guy.

Howie met Kathy when she was working as a Sales Rep at the old 850am WHDH. After they got married, Howie negotiated a deal for her with HDH that allowed her to work from home 3 days a week. The deal was unusual but not unheard of. My experience has been that if the Rep is bringing in the business, some Sales Managers don't care how often you are at your desk.
