Henry Rollins for Jonsey

For those who are fans of Henry..his politics and wildly eclectic music taste (as I am), this promises to be a great week of radio!

Henry Rollins is just the nicest guy.

Many years ago I was sitting in the lobby of a hotel in Sacramento with a Betacam on my lap and a tripod waiting for my sound guy to show up.

Mr. Rollins walks into the lobby and sits across from me. No one was with him. He was by himself. He saw my camera asked me what I was going to film (an interview with a senator). I was never a listener of Mr. Rollins' music but I did recognize him from an interview in the Orange County Register.

We talked for nearly 20 minutes about bands we both liked, recording techniques and his home town of Washington D.C. (I recall him telling me that he grew up near the Dupont Circle area).

I didn't realize at the time just how popular Henry Rollins was until I mentioned my meeting him to my nephews. They went nuts.

I still haven't had a chance to hear his music and I have no idea what his politics are, but I will say that Mr. Rollins is a wonderful, honest, down-to-earth person.

What station will he be on?

Thanks for the story...what I know of him, he is seemingly a very decent man...

He is on Indie 103.1 or Indie1031.com...this week on Jonsey's Jukebox(noon-2)...as well as his show Tuesday evenings from 8-10.

I remember back in fall of 2002 henry rollins hosted for just that sunday a shift on kfi it is after all more stimulating talk radio. Needless to say he is pretty liberal but entertaining. As i have said in talk radio it does not matter what side of the fence you are on as long as you are entertaining and he was.
