Henry Stone Dead at 93.

R.I.P. Mr. Stone. Thank You for the great music, and talent.

We lost a good one here. Just think of the artists he worked with. Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Duane and Greg Allman (recording as 31st of February if my information is correct, Stone let them park their van and sleep in it as they had no cash for a motel room), George McCrae, his wife Gwen McCrae, K.C. And The Sunshine Band (whose founder, of course, started out with Stone boxing up records and sweeping floors). He put Allan Freed up in a room when Freed had no where else to go, he told Atlantic Records where they could find Ray Charles to offer him a contract, and he lived in Miami for sixty-six years after moving there in 1948. And when TK Records went bankrupt after disco died (remember "Disco Demolition Night"?), Stone picked up the pieces and kept going right till the end.
