Well, keep in mind it was 1978, and HBO was the only 'mass-carried' cable network at that time. WTCG (WTBS) slowly but surely added more cable carriage, and so did CBN. ESPN and CNN weren't even around yet. I think Tri-Cities stations had translators in Heppner and (maybe) Portland as well.
