Herald article on new WRKO show

http://business.bostonherald.com/businessNews/view.bg?articleid=116232

It won't be a 3 hour restaurant review show; "Instead, the talk station is billing the weeknight program, airing from 7-10 p.m., as a guide for nightlife in the Hub — covering everything from clubs and concerts to dating and dancing.

“It’s going to have a very savvy, sexy feel to the show,” (host Todd) Feinburg said. “It won’t be puff pieces.”
______________

I give it 3 months tops.

Might as well let Pat Whitley do his restaurant show 5 nights a week

Sure, then Moe can come on from 10-1 and talk about youth baseball and the south shore.

I wonder if the new show has anything to do with the fact that WRKO must pay for Savage but they don't get to air him half the time because of the Celtics, so this new show is a good filler for non-bball nights. Todd is the consumate WRKO fill-in guy of late. It will be interesting to see if he fills in for Howie some time, doing the 3-10 marathon shift.

Savvy and sexy? You've got to be kidding!

I can't imagine listeners will find Feinburg's show to be savvy or sexy. What drugs are they taking on Guest St.?

Is there really enough going on to warrant a 3 hour show 5 nights a week? I also question whether the crowd who's into the nightlife scene are WRKO (or even AM) listeners in the first place.

I agree with all the comments, sounds like the show is geared for the college crowd who I'm sure don't listen to WRKO any day/nite of the week!> > I give it 3 months tops.> > > > Might as well let Pat Whitley do his restaurant show 5> > nights a week> > > > Is there really enough going on to warrant a 3 hour show 5> nights a week? Re: Pat and Moe

Speaking of which, is Moe on the weekend shift because they need him for his fill-in duties during snowstorms? I noticed that he has toned down his conservative attack dog tactics he used when a caller had the nerve to disagree with him. He used to bait all the contrarian callers and then pot them down when they had the audacity to defend themselves.

I always wondered why they never syndicated entertainment like this?

But maybe some people in that age group tune in...and if not, maybe they'll
"discover" the new show and it may lead them to other shows in the lineup.

There was a big surge in talk radio listening by all age groups post-9/11
including people in their 20s/30s. Sure, we can assume they don't bother to
check out AM at all, but some might go to AM for Red Sox, etc., so maybe they
might also check out the new 'RKO show.
