Herald: Lineup changes at WTKK

http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/messengerBlog/?p=174

also thanks to Boston Radio Blog
http://bostonradio.blogspot.com

Soon to be announced:
6-9 am Imus (loses last hour)
9-10 am Barnicle
10 am-noon Michael Graham
12-3 pm Eagan and Braude

3-7 pm Severin
7-9 pm O'Reilly
Ingraham 9-midnight; then an hour of Barnicle rebroadcast followed by John and Jeff

"Meanwhile, Herald columnist Margery Eagan and NECN host Jim Braude are getting two hours tacked on their show. The small island of liberalism in WTKK’s line-up is going from a one-hour program to three hours, and will air between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., sources said."

So Barnicle loses an hour but gets it rebroadcast at midnight. Tripling of Eagan & Braude's show...counter-programming with local talk vs. Rush on 'RKO! Severin stays where he is,
Graham gets moved to mornings, and Bill OhReally moves to 7 pm, what say him?

Awesome news for Eagle and Braude!!!!!! :)

I wonder if they will still be on Saturday mornings? Listening during the week (now) stinks. They don't get on until just before 10 after, are off at :56, then with commericials..you got about a 30/35 min show. Going back to 3 hrs is great.

Yeah, but don't forget that they talk so fast, they manage to get 4 to 5 hours worth of show into one hour.

Are they stuck in a long-term deal with the I-man? Since Severin is out all the time, there won't be Michael Graham to fill in all the time, which means you could see E&B from 12-7 sometimes

So, is this good news or bad news for WRKO?

WTKK is going to be all local from 9am until 7pm, and they won't have to worry about baseball when there's breaking news. Plus Eagan and Braude give Severin a stronger lead in, driving PM drive numbers even higher?

But WRKO will have the Red Sox, a proven winner.

E&B will probably talk slower now that they have 3 hours. Barnicle will now have only an hour now,
or considerably less when you take out news & ads.

They renewed a deal with the I-man last year or maybe the year before that--think it was a 3 yr deal

So if you're just considering 'RKO vs TKK:
6-9 am: 'RKO local, 'TKK syndie
9-noon: both are local
12-3pm: 'RKO syndie, 'TKK local
3-7 pm: both local though tech. Carr is syndicated (but RKO is flagship)

RKO then goes to syndie till 5 am when they do a rerun, unless there's a Sox or Celts game BUT this
is still unclear. Is Feinburg gone from 7 pm or not? I just heard them run a promo for Savage "weeknights
at 10"...but Savage has been on at 7 lately (?) If it's indeed Savage, Doyle, then Noory, then you
would have syndie from 7 pm till 5 am. 'TKK would be syndie during the same hours except for
midnight-1 when it would be a rebroadcast of Barnicle

I don't know what kind of luck the "bring back prog talk" folks would be having in trying to get a station
of their own again, but either 'RKO or 'TKK could have tried to run Miller, Schultz, or Hartmann to see
what kind of ratings they'd get on a more powerful signal. Good to see local talkers on there, though
some syndie shows also could get a following. Seems like after 7 pm, most stations go syndie (except
'BZ of course).
And some stations are all syndie all the time on weekdays: WTTT is, and WKOX/WXKS was.
