Herald radio no longer simulcast on WMEX

I noticed in today's Boston Herald that Herald radio only lists WCRN as simulcasting every weekday from 10 a.m. - Noon. It would appear that WMEX won't be simulcasting the Morning Meeting from 9 a.m. - Noon beginning this week. Does anyone know what happened and what WMEX will be plugging into that timeslot?

And WCRN actually only simulcasts Herald radio Monday through Thursday. On Friday's they have Business, Politics, & Lifestyles with Gary S. Goldman from 10 - Noon.

No info on WMEX site or facebook about what may be airing in its place; BHR was actually 10-noon as Renegade Radio runs till 10. Will have to hear what airs.

1510 wasn't playing nice with the Herald who 1510 thought of as a major competitor rather than a cost effective vehicle to promote the station and supply them with professioal sounding programing. If a venture isn't a win win for both sides more often than not it is best to part ways but the brilliant station GM/Morning show host left himself with two hours to fill and no idea how to fill them except for running a rerun of a day old talk show from San Francisco.

This is just to easy to resist. You didn't actually think that they would bother to put something on their site. The site has been up for how long and the "History of WMEX and the About Us page is still blank except for coming soon

Now their facebook announces a new show in that
10am to noon slot starting Feb 1,hosted by Joe
Shortsleeve (ch4) and Diane MacNamara.

this station is nothing but a train wreck. I think they should just put on oldies and leave it on autopilot.

Somehow the bills are getting paid and the owners seem to
be enjoying themselves.Got at a bargain price though power
costs may be big. They could be very wealthy and just blowing
the money out.If we start hearing a mixture of Brother
Stair,NBCSports, informercials (well they do have Bill
Kelly though I believe it's WBIX running him every day),
Jeff Santos prog. talk etc then you really would have
a train wreck.Or they could just do birdfed oldies. No
local content. As it is,compared to WKOX and
WBIX,they have much more local content(good?Depends on your
opinion).Run on a
low budget and the power bill at least keeps getting
paid.

This is what's great about the internet. You can totally make stuff up, pretend that you actually know what you're talking about and post it online for the whole world to see. John Garrett must work for Wikipedia...and he apparently doesn't know how to use spell check either.

From Radio Ink:

Shortsleeve blew out of WBZ over a year ago to go work for a P.R./ Strategy firm, the press release to RadioInk is a tad misleading.

And talk about trying to claim anothers accomplishments as your own, Hey WMEX, what WBZ accomplished had very little to do with his employment.

So I you believe the relationship between the Herald and WMEX has been a positive one of late? I happen to know for a fact that it was not. You think it was a good move by management to put the station in a position that requires running a rebroadcast for a program that is almost 24 hours old for two weeks until their latest offering starts? If you read my previous posts you'll see that I know about when it comes to the 1510 train wreck.

How long do you think this new 10 to 12 show will last?

No, John. What I said is you have no clue as to what you're talking about. You're wrong when you say WMEX didn't honor the terms of their contract with Boston Herald. You have no understanding of what those terms were and how that relationship played out on both sides. You're wrong in your assessment of what that show brought to the station. You're wrong when you say the GM dumped Boston Herald with no plan to put something else on in it's place. You obviously have a personal bone to pick with the station. I don't know why, I don't know where you're getting your "information" from, nor do I care. The fact is, everything you've posted is YOUR personal opinion and unfortunately it's not backed by one shred of truth.

Where did I say that MEX did not honor the terms of the contract? I never wrote that. Saying my assessment of what the show brought to the station is wrong is nothing more than your opinion. I have spent more time posting about this vanity station that it deserves so I will leave the future posts to experts like yourself. Please let us know when they run out of money and are forced to sell or lease out the entire station. I look for that post sometime in the next 6 months or so.

Here's where you said it, John:

You wrote it. Your words. Your post. With NO basis in truth.
