Herald re: Scotto; BRW re: Depetro

“Scott does a good job. He’s a credible host but I just feel that at this point, in the growth of the new WRKO, that having someone with the local stature . . . of Finneran gives us a better chance to compete long term,” said WRKO program director Jason Wolfe.

Replace the radio vet with the felon politician. Yup. For he's a jolly good felon!

Meanwhile Boston Radio Watch has talked to DePetro who defends the ratings he got at WRKO. Says he
could have used a better lead in, and also: "From August 05 to Feb 06, we had 3 different program directors at WRKO and each one kept making changes. Very tough when you are new to the market and trying to build an audience."

DePetro was coddled and had more opportunities than most on-air individuals.

He was just plain awful. "Blame the lead-in", no acceptance of personal responsibility.

Thank God he is out of this marketplace. What a blight! Not since Brad...

Brad Bleidt was an out-and-out CRIMINAL who depeleted real people's life savings. Just because you don't like someone either in "management" or on-the-air, this strikes me as an unfair and unfortunate comparison.

I think he has more credibility than someone who goes by the name"Avenue A"...lol

Fine, Bleidt beats DePetro in the sleaze department. Who wants to win that race?

Hi Laurence,

You are probably correct - though I find DePetro's offensive comments almost down there with Brad's activities.

One can't get a little pregnant. But you are right, DePetro has not been convicted of conspiring with
Buddy Cianci though they could be co-hosts sooner than later:

DEPETRO/CIANCI LTD
A short time later, Coloian, who is under indictment on corruption charges in Operation Plunder Dome, and DePetro, who is under subpoena in a related inquiry into a videotape leaked to the media, encountered one another in the men's room.

Was very surprised Dave Barber was let go at WPRO. I really started to like and appreciate his sense of humor. Radio is a brutal biz. So now the question is John DePetro or Buddy Cianci?? If it's DePetro can you see the staff meetings with him and Yorke in the same room?? heh heh heh heh heh That could be a pay-per-view event.

DEPETRO & OPERATION PLUNDER DOME:

CIANCI

He is scheduled to be released on July 27, 2007. Some local legal experts believe that he will be released in February 2007 to serve the last 6 months of his sentence in home confinement.
