A female reporter, with the Herald, was on John Depetro`s show today.
She told Mr. Depetro " I wish it were YOU in that bar with that bouncer,
instead of her".
I believe this reporter should be FIRED!
Depetro had made remarks about the young woman s judgement, who was murdered
in the N.Y. bar.
That caused a Media uproar.
Well, a reporter called for 'his' MURDER!!!
Which is worse?????????????????
Fallriveractive.

the herald is a mess. now that cosmo has left, what's there left to read?!
howie carr's reprints about hack state workers and the big dig?
the track yentas?

The two Herald staffers who appeared on Depetro's show today were amazingly unprofessional. Hard to believe either of them were actually employed by a major newspaper.

Since when has the Herald been considered a "major newspaper" ?
But this is a first. Denny Crane agrees with coolidge. Must be the Mad Cow's disease at work.

I sure we could talk about radio and not politics.
That said, I agree with you!

Since at least 1912. Learn your history.

I believe "The Herald" has been around only since the 1980's. Perhaps, you were thinking about "The Boston Herald" or "The Herald-American" or "The Herald and its evening partner "The Traveler" or "The Record-American" or "The Record". Different owners, different names, different papers. Learn YOUR history.

The Boston Herald Traveler Record American (and sunday Advertiser...)
with the various mergers over the years.

Well, that was your first mistake. The Herald has existed since 1846.

Just a bit younger than coolidge it seems. ;-)

Who owned it and was it a tabloid?

DePetro's genius is pushing buttons and doing his version of the WWF on the air. It's what he's good at.

Look at how he riles the radio fans here.

That's his schtick--take that away from him and he's a weak-kneed Hannity clone.

It is good to see someone give props to Cosmo,I also think they wrecked their integrity by hiring Barnicle.
Puzzled by why there is so much hate towards Depetro.

One need not be old to know history.

And it was a broadsheet.

I have to assume from your comments you did not hear the show in question. The behavior of the Herald employees had nothing to do with "pushing buttons." They were both ranting in a childish, unprofessional way. Depetro just stayed out of the way.

Re:The Boston Herald, yellow journalism

I just purchased a 1966 issue of The Boston Herald on eBay.
It is amazing how thin the paper was. The information we
needed was regarding The Beatles 1966 tour - which covered
four articles. (Some of this info was contained in the
BBC special of January that I referenced earlier).

Four articles about or mentioning the
Beatles tour is a treasure chest for rock historians -
however there was little else in the paper. Things haven't
changed in 40 years, have they? You can read about what
was said on the Howie Carr show three days ago in his
column.

She wasn't exactly calling for his murder, just wishing that it happened.
There's a difference.
I'm not sure it's a much better choice.
I'd be surprised if DePetro was really rattled by her comments
