WACL had the most diversified format . 5:00 am - 7:00 country, 7:00am - 8:00 top 40, 8:00 am - 11:00 easy listening, 11:00 am - Noon gospel, 12 noon- 3:00 country, 3:00 pm- 6:00 top 40, 6:00 - 7:00 beautiful music, 7:00pm - 10:00 top 40, and 10:00 pm - 12 midnight soul/ r and b. Paul Harvey, and local news from the newspaper editor on the phone also rounded out the schedule. Saturdays pretty much the same, except for opera in the afternoon. Sundays were all preaching and gospel, with black gospel in the evening. This went on until about 1977, when it switched to country, and all gospel in the mid 80s. It was a sucessful small market powerhouse with this formula for many years. 5,000 watts at 570, it's a shame it's gone.
