WIP-FM still not listed. Month after month the same error.

Interesting that the all of the top 10 stations except 104.5 are stations that have been in basically the same format as they are now for 20, 30, 40 years. The trendier, format-jumping stations are farther down. The established WDAS-FM & WUSL lead all the newer urban/r&b formatted stations. Talk radio (besides all news KYW) lags way behind the music stations. Where are the powerhouse AM stations of the 1960's 560 & 990? And can CBS afford to keep WIP 610, once one of the top rated stations in town, as a showcase for a national sports format at 0.1? Will CC stay committed to the r&b oldies format on WDAS-AM? I'm wondering that maybe it survives for the purpose of being an HD FM side channel to DAS-FM more than a commitment to an AM station.

I don't think they were ever committed to WDAS-AM. How do you run a station with ONE jock? Having more on-air talent may cost money [ unless you use interns ], but it would bring credibilty to the station. I actually hear people listening to WDAS-AM, so there is still a market for the format.

And here's something that may start a new thread, but maybe they could do a variation on Bob Pantano's Saturday Night Broadcast, but playing the R&B and Dance cuts that he and the R&B outlets won't play. I remember plenty of songs that WDAS-FM & Power99 used to play in the 70's and 80's that were hits but are forgotten or dismissed for various reasons.

How do you run a station with 1 jock? This is CC. radio1045, which is their 2nd highest rated station, & #7 overall only has 1 jock that isn't VT, and to stretch out her shift longer, she is mostly VT too.

Just keep in mind we don't see numbers by demo. And we don't have BIA revenue numbers.

WIP runs as an automated station. Only expense is PECO. CBS' Sports Network gets to sell the network with Philly outlet.

Not only have stations had the same format for two, three, four decades, they've had the same listeners. And KYW is coming up on half a century with the same format.

Not PECO. That electricity comes from PSE&G. The transmitter is in Bellmawr. (Actually CBS probably uses another energy supplier. Probably a bulk discount on the kW.)

Of course in the beginning of this format WDAS-AM had 2 jocks covering 6-noon & noon-6. 'Butterball' voicetracked the afternoons until he passed away, then was never replaced. If they wanted to find someone out there from the original WDAS or WHAT there must be someone, too bad they don't want to invest even that little in the programming. Maybe even one of the old 'PGR jocks like the Cannonball Jimmy Parsons now heard on internet & buying time on WNJC/WVLT.

CBS considers it a 50,000-watt billboard for its CBS Sports Radio network. So I'm sure they can afford that. Consider Bloomberg's AM 1130 in New York. Same deal.

How is Bloomberg a "billboard" for CBS Sports Radio? Bloomberg is adding affiliates. Real business-oriented news instead of "investing" infomercials. Interest in right-wing rant radio declining. Maybe time for all news with a business focus. Radio has always done a lousy job covering business and economic issues and has greatly under-estimated their importance. Maybe that even has some connection to how incompetently radio operates as a business.

I've heard butterball's name mentioned in promo's as of late which surprises me.

On what station? Besides the fact that Patty Jackson is now the official host of Butter's Sunday night Show, i don't see any reason he would be mentioned in any promos.
