Here comes CHAOS for FM

-10.... So much for the "compromise"!

Who are the engineers of the "18" groups, and where did they get their education. The problem is the public does not want this. It is not signal strength. To protect their own channels, the non-HD folks will crank up the analog if they have any headroom. I don't blame them. If was being hashed by this junk I would crank up mine too. Get ready for the lawsuits people.

This SHORTCUT in engineering logic is going to create hell for a lot of broadcaters IF corporate radio can afford the 'upgrades'. For every station that upgrades, a rf study should have to be ran to prove it doesn't cause harmful interference to others. Why can't my little class As kick it up to 100,000kw? Yeah.... I'll step on someone else. I have to prove it for an analog power upgrade. Why should corporate radio get a shortcut to shoot first and ask questions later?

You know OKC, there will be an outbreak of illegal analog power increases because of fear. Others will crank mod to increase carrier deviation. I totally agree with your thought. If I wanted to go from "analog" A to B, or B to C, I would have to complete detailed studies. But if you are HD, just try it and see who complains.
