Here we go again at 1035!

Rock music is on HD-2.
I hear WIOD blowing in the wind...again?

OK, not that I was an aficionado of SHE, so....what are they playing right now that they wouldn't touch last week, and what DID they play that you think they won't play now?

And, what'll be their definition of "variety"----300-song playlist?

cd

I understand the lack of a need for CC to own two Rock-formatted stations in Miami. But why would they abandon the Heritage of SHE - especially given that they just brought it back. Variety stations are often placeholders. Perhaps this is a stunt?

why couldnt it have been SHE, south floridas best variety... i liked SHE and their liners...

How can they be going after Coast when Coast doesn't even know what it is? Coast seems to change by the week.

I honestly have no idea what Clear Channel is doing with 103.5.

Go after the same demo and pull down the competition. It is that simple. I could never understand why She was used for a classic/variety hits station. I guess the name change might reflect that.

Despite the rebranding, I don't see that much of a difference in the song mix so far (granted I only listened briefly yesterday afternoon on the drive home, and again briefly this morning (mainly when my primary station (BIG 1059) is in commercials) :) Around 5:00, I thought I heard what sounded like a live DJ mention some contest. Could have been a voicetrack, but then again... I'll need to listen more today, maybe I'll ditch BIG on the drive home (never was that fond of the TWOSday deal, which I used to hear on KLOS in L. A. like 30 years ago...)

Apparently Kelly Craig or at least her voice is hosting 9am-2pm and Rod Phillips and his voice is doing the 2pm-7pm shift. I believe Rod is the SVP of Programming for the Miami cluster.

Ron Phillips is doing afternoons on 103.5, works weekends and fill ins on BIG and morning Traffic for Jimmy Cefelo on WIOD mornings. As you can see from this, he is not the SVP of Programming for the Miami Cluster and i'm sure he's glad he isn't.

I don't get it when there's an obvious hole in the market for Rock why haven't they flipped to rock?! Same with CC in NYC no need for KTU or Power, one or the other!

KTU is a Rhythmic Hot AC and Power is a hip-hop station. Completely different formats targeting competely different audiences.

because the demo for rock in Miami is so low that it's not worth it for a broadcast station
