Here we go again- with 'Chris Edwards'

He's baaaaaaaaack...

Deli DJ: Pastrami, tunes from Hanford rock station

http://www.thebusinessjournal.com/n...i-dj-pastrami-tunes-from-hanford-rock-station

"As if operating a radio station and a deli weren’t enough, the White’s also operate 10 other stations. Most, including the popular agriculture news station CaliforniaAgNews.com, operate solely online, but there are physical stations in Firebaugh, Dos Palos, San Francisco and Avenal. They also operate a second station, KOOL 104.5 FM, out of Hanford. KOOL is also a nonprofit, though not a 501c3, operated by the Unitarian Universal Life Church of Hanford ... KFUN has 385,000 listeners a day, on average, White said, while CaliforniaAgNews.com reaches as many as 1.5 million a day."

What San Francisco station does Verne own? Perhaps BillDrak1 (sic) knows.

Keep in mind that it ain't that hard to check webstream statistics. At the time I checked yesterday afternoon, there was one person listening to CaliforniaAgNews.com (me) and the all-time high in simultaneous listeners was seven. Guess the other 1,499,993 were off listening to something else.

Though each new station and business venture is an endeavor, it’s never too much for Chris, who has been in the industry for more than 50 years and retired from CBS radio in 2005. “I just enjoy it,” he said.

No, Verne, that was the real Chris Edwards. You can't retire from CBS if you never worked at CBS ... unless the "BS" stands for something else.

Verne never disappoints, does he? I still remember the first go-around---10 years ago---when he sent Johnny Williams (former KHJ Boss Jock) his bio for 440:Satisfaction and listed KHJ in 1974. Johnny called him on it (since Johnny was there in '74) and Verne said it was a typo---that he meant KSLY in San Luis Obispo. Trouble was, I was there in '74...and Verne wasn't.

And then, this clarification:

Let's get it correct my cousin Chris White aka Chris Edwardes White works for me and is the CEO for my internet stations ONLY. I am using him as a voice talent on my 4 FM's as well. ... I have asked Chris White to change his air name to make sure that it is clarified either to his legal name Chris White or Chris Edwards White.
Verne White
President

Wonder why that didn't come up in the Biz Journal interview?

And the only 110-year-old deli in the San Jose area is Chiaramonte's. I wonder how Denise is related?

KAAX Avenal isn't "on the air". Where are the studios? Sure isn't in Avenal. Vern filed to make KAAX and KYAF Firebaugh Commercial stations. Commercial stations MUST have local studios. Commercial stations are not exempt from having local studios. KAAX is not even constructed.
