I'm one of those who doesn't like Jack. My sister listened to Jack and she is one that doens't like mish-mashed format radio. She refuses to listen to Nine-FM for the same reason. She doesn't like country, rock, pop, disco, and ac mixed together. She likes a station with a consistent format. And she hates it that WNND Hits of the 80's and 90's is no longer around. It was her favorite station. Too bad for her.
I like the mish-mashed format (or variety to most people) and at least I can tolerate Nine FM. I grew up listening to different types of music and only country and some classic rock I don't like, but will tolerate it from time to time on Nine FM because they play a bunch of other songs I do like. At least Nine has airstaff (mainly mornings, middays, and afternoons these days) and will keep some airstaff, while Jack will be 100% automated.
We'll have to see the summer Arbitron book to see how well Jack does now that the ratings will still show for oldies.
