Here's an idea for Crawford Broadcasting In CHICAGO

I have an idea where I would like to see Crawford Broadcasting (Dontron Inc.) try to purchase 105.9 WCFS FM from CBS RADIO or try to enter into a local marketing agreement with CBS RADIO to operate 105.9 WCFS FM with the Urban AC format currently on 106.3 WSRB FM, THEN 105.9 FM in CHICAGO could become a station named SOUL 105.9 OR SOUL 106 at 105.9 FM, featuring "the Tom Joyner Morning Show".

Why would CBS do this? Crawford has changed 106.3 several times in the last couple of years. They don't seem to know what they want the station to be.

Why would Crawford shell out the money for a CBS station? What would they then do with 106.3?

If anything they should stop trying to be a copycat of V103 and be a true soul station. Play some dusties we don't hear anymore, add some of the smooth songs from 87.7 and tap a listener base with no station.

I mean no disrespect to you, this just has no logic behind it. If you had said they should think of going after one of the down and out Merlin stations like 101.1 or 97.9.

97.9 is not exactly in trouble, their ratings are good, however Merlin has taken the heart out of the once proud station.

For curiosity sake, how did you come by this idea?

Here's a better idea for Crawford Broadcasting:

Sell.

Sell in Birmingham, and definitely sell in Chicago. The fewer stations owned by this company, the better.

I'll drink to that!

They could then use 106.3 FM to simulcast 102.3 WYCA FM also known as Rejoice 102.3 located in the south suburbs of CHICAGO. Then it could become Rejoice 102.3/106.3 FM .
