Here's an idea to sell a few HD radios

nd2023

Sirius XM recently dropped BBC Radio 1. A lot of people subscribed to satellite just for that station. Terrestrial stations should make arrangements with BBC to simulcast Radio 1 on an HD2. Then some of the people who canceled satellite would buy an HD radio instead.

I'd certainly listen, even if it wasn't tape delayed like it was on Sirius.

But I doubt radio would go for it, as it would be an interesting commercial-free alternative to (fake) local radio. Plus I don't know of anyone who thinks BBC R1 is actually any good. Everyone I've tried to turn on to it says it sucks, with too much talking and "too unfamiliar music". I thought that was the whole point — personality and being exposed to new music we don't get here!
