Here's how AGM can come out on top!

So how do they turn a problem into an opportunity? They have three well-known on-air voices under contract and a talk-format station that cannot possibly succeed. So here's the deal. As Big moves from "Oldies" into "Classic Top 40", its time to drop the old-skewing Bobby Box. Who takes over the mornings? Larry Ahrens, of course! He is a seasoned and capable morning host who used to do a great job of a full-service morning show on 770 before their adoption of a full-time talk format. Put together a powerhouse morning program on Big that sets up the rest of the day. Phil Sisneros is already on Big - drop out the double PD salary of Scooter and make Phil the afternoon guy live - lotsa drops, the well-known Bean wit and humor. Mid-days can be capably tracked by Steve Suttle. Evenings stay with the Tom Kent syndication. Result: A station that is no longer schizophrenic between the era of the music mornings and evenings and has an absolutely great on-air lineup while pushing its demos younger. What to do with 106.3? Squeeze 94 Rock (and Ed, Coyote, Buzzard and others) with an 80's-based AOR format (94 has wisely kept playing lots of this material) and put Chris Jackson on as the morning host. He could really stir things up in the AOR realm and I think he is the only talent in the market who could make a stand against the popular but somewhat tiresome TJ Trout. Result: A station that is largely self-promoting with great demos and is cheap to operate. Now that AGM has hired Lee Logan and pulled in some great sales talent from Citadel and others, they now have the chops to pull this off and kick some real radio butt. I have to say, I admire the Brandons for giving the talk format a real run. Their commitment is to be respected and admired. Now, they can have another great year like 2004 in 2006, except even stronger. Best of success to AGM, and thanks for your outstanding run at 770.

You're delusional. Get real. If it's a joke, congratulations, you made me laugh.

That really isn't a bad idea...although I wonder whether the format needs that high-priced talent; and whether the numbers are going to be significantly higher to jusify the investment.

then the question is what becomes of 106.3?

Looks like someone has a lot of time to think about American General Media.
I must say there are some interesting ideas. I for one, having listened to the Bean from his first radio days here, I would love to hear him in a setting more suited to his talents.

Hey Ed, did you ever work in Roswell?<P ID="signature">______________

Nice sentiments but why should AGM be respected and
admired for doing everything wrong with their talk
station?. Ready-shoot-shoot again-okay aim. Hutton
should be gone already.
