He's At It Again - Heaven Help Us!

Unlike Harold Camping, you at least get a good laugh out of Pat Robertson's musings. ::)

Pat's little choo-choo went around the bend years ago.

If his family cared about him they'd get him off the air so that he'd quit
embarrassing himself.

This is the same Pat Robertson who, back in the late '80s, IIRC,
said he prayed a hurricane away from Virginia Beach--only the
hurricane nearly destroyed Long Island (something he didn't mention).
This is also the same Pat Robertson who sat nodding in agreement on
"The 700 Club" when Jerry Falwell said that 9/11 was an act of God's
vengeance on a sinful America.

Take him for whatever you think he's worth.

For just possibly the first time Robertson says something I can agree with. I have seen up close what a conviction for simple possession of weed can do to someone and it is the classic definition of overkill. We don't place felonies on people who possess controlled drugs without prescriptions (Hi Rush!) so why do it with grass? It makes absolutely no sense and more often than not relegates the victim/user to a substandard life because of a harmless indiscretion.

His statement about "liberals" mandating the harsh penalties for use or possession is laughable though and one wonders whether he hasn't suffered a stroke.

I've heard that Pat Robertson predicted 1982 as the end of days. Failed. I've heard that Jack Van Impe predicted the same thing for Y2K, failed again. I've heard Harold Camping predicted May 21, 2011 as the end, failed. And again on October 21, 2011, failed again. Now I've heard that Jack Van Impe is predicting this 2012 nonsense. Read Matthew 24-35 in KJV of the Bible.

True - though it's notable that the Justice Department under Obama has taken a tougher stance against California's Medical Marijuana law (making some arrests on the basis of federal law superceding state law). The Bush Administration made some noises along those lines, but in practice, didn't intercede in California's growing pot business.
