He's Baaaack!

According to "Taylor on Radio-Info" today...

Jeff Roper – who’s a station owner and syndicated host in his own right – joins Miller Communications’ “Star 105.1”/WGFG, Orangeburg, SC to handle mornings. He’ll take over for the retiring Russ T. Fender. Jeff’s worked in Columbia, SC (radio and TV), in Greenville-Spartanburg, Hilton Head/Savannah, and up in Charlotte at WSOC. The local Times & Democrat says Roper and his wife Angie also own Big Fish Broadcasting, and he’s part of the “God’s Country” network that T-R-I has been writing about, out of the Charlotte area.

I'm not trying to be a turd in the punch bowl, but technology has made it possible for Harold to save money and Jeff to make some.

Good for Roper. I've seen a lot of hateration directed at him on this board, and I just don't get it. I came in as PD at WZOK/Rockford as he was leaving. The only morning talent I've known with as good a rapport with his audience was Kidd Kraddick. I used Roper as an example in at least as many teaching situations over the years as I have Kraddick, and he is one of the most genuine, nice people people I met in 20+ years in the business.

Now, if I can just get him to go by the Earl Duke's BarBQ on 5 chop road beside the Pepsi Cola plant, pick me up a plate and FedEx it to me!
