About 340 Hz. Probably one of the graveyarders here in the SE. Could hear it as late as 9:30AM (ET). Hard to believe an AM could be that far off with today's technology.

Are they beating with the Griffin station (when did WKEU go away, I thought that call would last forever?)
340 Hz might be a record! Our local on 1060 was about 100 Hz off before they last went silent.

Are you old enough to remember those post cards from Van Nostrand 😁 ? Those were the days!

Yes, I vaguely remember the Van Nostrand post cards. I used to wonder if he really measured the frequency or just made it up.
(I must update my picture. Thats an old picture of me.)
This beat might not be domestic. I can also hear a similar beat at 1380 and 1440. But those are weaker.
Might be something offshore. Who knows what kind of frequency control they're using.
Maybe L-C circuits.

A bit OT, so I apologize in advance..... But speaking of hets, I'm still hearing one on 1290 at my location in the Chicago area. This has been going on for several months. It's not there all the time, but roughly as often as not.
