....thanks for abandoning many of the former 96.3 The Rose listeners. Anyone on this board who loves rock would certainly love Cape Cod radio, because there are 5 stations on Cape that play mostly rock, not including the actual rock station. I would think that maybe, just maybe 106 WCOD would at least TRY to give those former Rose listeners a home to hear some rhythmic Top 40 music, especially since the Rose was also a Qantum station. Well, WCOD, you are certainly not the only game in town, and it's so great that many out of market stations can be heard throughout the Cape. Looks like Fun 107 (107.1) may cash in on the former Rose listeners. WCOD, just think, some of the listeners that YOU could have gotten, have most likely already tuned you out and found Fun 107 which covers most of the Cape with a good signal. And also Dusty and Daphne for 3 hours on WCOD on Sunday, WOW! (sarcastic), 3 whole hours of just dance music on the Cape. I can see the dance music fans just going crazy to make plans to be tuned in from 5pm to 8pm Sunday for those 3 hours of dance music they hear only once per week on the rock saturated Cape Cod radio dial. Looks like Dusty and Daphne are saviors to the dance music fans on the Cape. Other than that, Fun 107 is to be the new Rhythmic Top 40 station for the Cape. But maybe.......another corporate network on the Cape may take advantage of that Rhythmic Top 40 void...........hmmmmmmm?

The part you highlighted is true if you listen to 92.7 WMVY, 99.9 WQRC, Frank FM, Cool 102, and 106 WCOD. But then again, soon someone will post and say RADIO IS A BUSINESS, BLAH BLAH BLAH. I know this, and I know that these corporations could care less what we think, because they only care about the advertising $.

I believe most (maybe all, and then the station is paid) of the Dusty and Daphne show is sold by the two of them.
But, more to the discussion of top 40 on the Cape, I bet the Cape Cod Broadcasting people are kicking themselves for not hanging in there with Cape 104 (103.9).

I graduated from Connecticut School Of Broadcasting when most stations were still independent and actually cared more about the listener. I am glad that I got out of radio before the money hungry corperations took over most of the stations. One of the best decisions I ever made, especially with the state of corporate radio now with no job security. You can be working in corporate radio for many years and be great, even be a legend, and then, FIRED. Even longevity means nothing. I certainly would not want to work in a corporate radio station where your future is always uncertain. I give credit to the independent stations who are fighting the economic battle to stay independent, do their own thing, and serve their communities. Stations like 1240 WOON in Woonsocket, RI, a true gem of a station, proudly serving the Blackstone Valley.

I am glad that I got out of radio before the money hungry corperations took over most of the stations. Well excuseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee me! ;D CHR is not dead on the Cape as Fun 107 can be heard on the Cape as well as Jam'n 94.5 in some areas, so no big deal for the fans of that music. It's nice that there are out of market stations that can be heard there as I said before. If a listener is not satisfied with the local stations they will listen to out of market stations, even if the reception is not the best, and Cape Cod is a great area to hear many out of market stations from Boston, Providence, and other areas.MoLarryMoLarry said:

It's popular with the teens, but, as a rule, they don't drive advertisers. Guys, for the most part, don't really care about it.
