Hey Austin, how is KVET 98.1 doing?

I really love KVET because they play classic country on FM. I especially love the 80s at 8. I was just wondering how well it's doing in the Austin market.

Hey SA folks, what do you all think of one of San Antonio's country stations incorporating a format like KVET? Would it work here? Or should they simulcast/switch KKYX on/to FM?

Kvet is doing good number 1 the last time around, they are still sounding good with less repeation than any other country station around, they got a good playlist. Acually the outlaw is kind of like kvet, only they go more deep into the Texas playlist, Kj might be the closest to kvet than any of them in my opinion.

There is no San Antonio station like KVET. KJ is so heavy into the new country and they may slip in three or four George Strait/Clint Black/Garth Brooks an hour and call that classic. The new station (the Outlaw) is solid Texas. KVET is really a good blend of 70s and 80s country, plus a few new songs from Nashville (George Strait and Alan Jackson) and the most mainstream, well-known, of the Texas artists. It does work well in Austin, though a third of the audience wants it to be all classic, a third of the audience wants it to be all Nashville, and a third of the audience wants it to be all Texas. Since they all listen it has made KVET number one at least four books in the last two or three years.
