All I can say is, way to go WUNC! Yes, I am a public radio fan...I have been out of the game for a while. However, it seems that it would do advertising agencies some good to go into the 'underwriting' business. They can use the same loud car dealership dude, I guess...he just can't say BUY! BUY! BUY!

San Antonio!! Haahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahhahahahaahahhahahahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahaha! I get it!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;) ;) ;)

Agreed! WUNC is a powerhouse! Anyone wanting to brand a business or product should take notice and act accordingly.

That being said, Bob and the Showgram continues to be a strong presence. All of these top stations are pretty consistent. They're up a little, then down a little, but they're strong in the long haul.

The answer to any stations' success is a) content, b) community engagement, and c) content. It's got to be worth listening to and the community that the station serves must be engaged. NCPR-WUNC does have public engagement, even if it is "fundraisers". They also have the content. Yes, ME and ATC are the mainstays of any NPR-affiliated station but NCPR puts in a good amount of local content into these programs too.

I think it's good radio. They actually employ live announcers and the community engagement is very good. They will manage just fine without the small amount of government money they used to get. Why not have radio that is supported by the listeners and businesses who help sponsor the programming? Makes sense to me.

One name sums up my feeling for "Public Radio"....Juan Williams. I am glad FOX News had the common sense to pick up this fine journalist.

I do not understand the reference "Hey Bob, San Antonio on line 3". Bob is a disgrace to Triangle Radio (or any other radio). I know he brings in a lot of money and ratings which is important. I think the kind of humor Bob broadcasts went out of style about 10 years ago!
