HEY -- CLEAR CHANNEL SEATTLE

Can't see that it would make any difference. The company is being run by the banks now...and though the FCC hasn't approved any transfer of control we all know what's going on. There is a difference between knowing when to get out (Bill Gates) and stripping the value of the company before you go (the Mays). These guys would make Chainsaw Al Dunlap blush a bit....
 
Not that anyone here would believe me, but Randall and Mark Mays are by no means dishonest or stripping value. They are actually good people who do care about their employees and business.

Not to speak ill of the man, but it was Lowry Mays who was at the helm of the larger than real days of Clear Channel with the rampant and some may consider irresponsible growth. When Lowry became sick, the economy tanked, and values plummeted, Mark and Randall were left with picking up the pieces.

Sure it's easy to demonize the rich guys (God knows I'm not one) but unless you've had business or personal dealings with the May's or worked for them , you have no basis to ridicule.
 
Lowry played the NAB like a fiddle. Had his San Antonio based little group ... got the NAB to go to bat for all the deregulation ... built his empire ... and that's the last I ever saw of the guy. Always thought the kids were, as one industry pundit put it, "proud members of the lucky sperm club". Not exactly unearned karma that Hogan probably a very concerned man on a day-to-day basis about HIS future.....
