Actually she was the one who was committing the tort of defamation if she was misrepresenting Cowhead, 98Rock, and Clear Channel. If I was Cowhead I'd sue her and Cox..though as most djs he'd be woried about blackballing himself out of the industry.

I can tell you I am professional enough to use my real name and email so thatI can take responsability for anything I post.

Thankfully any talent I have left will land me a gig, not internet posts. But I guess since you are a "CHR Programmer" you would know better.

If you think me speaking honestly about someone (let alone a SALES WEASEL) will stop me from getting a gig in this or any market your an idiot (and you obviously have never heard my show)!

One more thing...calling her a C*NT (for sending out a joyous email on the day I was fired) makes me a pig, but not arrogant or sexist.

I've had to defend against certain airchecks made against us. It's a really sad way to sell. The fact is that we were kicking their butts. And that is all they have. XTB is killing them in the ratings and that is all they could do. Pretty sad.

the market is changing my friend. the "market" is now satalite radio.

there's a reason anyone worth a few bucks is going there.
 
Please how many more sophomoric morons concerned with lesbians, pole climbers, hookers can radio take? Heres the truth at least regarding XM.. Opie and Anthony were failing as a premium extra pay service. XM had to raise the price on all of us and throw them in to make it look like they have some numbers. Bubba wont make it there either. You can only take so much. One other thing is that you needed the constraints of over the air radio to keep these guys in line. I think only Howard is smart enuf to know that you cant just go wild on satellite. I know that XM is cramming too many channels and all of their audio quality is suffering.

XM did not raise the rates just because of Opie & Anthony..they raised the rates also after they removed commercials from all of their music channels. Do you know the audio quality is suffering because A) you read it here or elsewhere, B) you actually can hear a difference or C) other.

My guess is that a big reason to get rid of the premium charges on XM was 1) the administrative costs to manage different tier programming, 2) since it works in a duopoly, there were no premium channels on its competition, SIRI, plus SIRI was already pricing itself at 12.95/mo where XM was 9.99/mo
 
I can hear the poor quality. My ears are maybe a little more sensitive but I can hear the artifacts in a 128 mp3. They can vary the audio quality of any of their channels. They give some channels more bandwidth. The poorest are the weather and traffic. They sound so bad to my ears that I cant listen more than a minute or two. XM has never had much high end response, but it has gotten worse in the last year. Where you really know the difference is when you compare a CD against XM. Then you know. XM is not even FM quality any more. I should qualify that to mean FM quality by today's standards. Way overcompressed and clipped to make it loud FM.

Cowhead we loved your show and most of whatt you did (plese save the political topics for someone else). Sorry, but I feel that local, non-political radio shows are a thing of the past. As far as satellite radio goes, I just don't get it. And from looking at the financial reports from XM and Sirius I am in the majority. I hope it works out for everyone. And Cowhead I hope you turn up somewhere in the Tampa market.

maybe its just me, but i find xm audio significanly better than anything i have heard on fm. also, why would you WANT to listen to traffic and weather for more than two minutes? granted, the audio is not that great on those channels, but still better than AM and to be honest, audio on these channels doesn't need to be high quality.

i took the plunge on xm about a year ago and am still giddy. it's light years better than local drek on radio. in fact, i rarely if ever listen to local radio. there's no reason to.
