What's all the fuss about?
If you don't like the Stews, fine. Change the dial. Going on and on about how they suck, etc. isn't going to change the fact that their show is very popular and doing well for 790. If you can't relate to the hip-hop lingo of the Stews and just don't get it, fine. Everything in life isn't going to cater to your tastes. Heaven forbid there would be at least one show on the air that takes on sports talk from an "hip-hop" or "urban" perspective. It's only ONE SHOW, but you'd think those gosh darn hip-hopping Blacks have taken over 790 or Atlanta sportstalk radio in general. Uh-oh, there goes the neighborhood.
Some of you are accusing Destiny's Kid of "playing the race card", but who were the first people to bring race into it, by saying the only reason the Stews were popular was because they're Black? As if you could just throw a couple of Black guys together to do a sports show, and Black folks will just eat it up. Ryan & Doug aren't perfect by any means, but their show just works. It's not going to last forever, but for now they are doing well. If you think it sucks, cool. It doesn't make you a racist to think they suck anymore than it makes me a racist to think Jim Rome sucks. But if you don't want the "race card" played, then don't bring up race in the first place, and don't toss out thinly veiled racial cheap shots and not expect to be called on it.
