Hey guess what? we are going to be back soon.

Wow it's hot here in Louisiana. Bill ran into a problem in Kentucky and I came to Alabama to get him from the greyhound station after i dropped a trailer off on stupid Florida, then we drove down here to a little town close to Shrevesport. Didn't see any good antennas, but saw a few, but they weren't really big or anything special. And this rig that we drove from Huntsville didnt have a radio just a CD player and one of Bill's discs had a paper label on it and when we went into a Ponderosa to get steak it was too hot and it got all gooey and the shredded label peeled off inside the machine. We took a pair of needle nose pliers and got the disc out so we're okay, but then Bill snapped the faceplate off the player, and the inside has all this adhesive crud inside its so we're gonna clam up about it. But the best news today is that we get to come back into Arizona to deliver some broken lawnmowers to a guy in Yuma who will take them into California to have them fixed up and repainted to sell as new. How far away can we get 1440? I liked them a lot and if we come back to that part, we would very much like to hear that radio station again. Te one with the lamp timer. Man alive that was really funny. We will have a Ryder truck and it has a radio fer sure. Kool radio is cool sometimes but they play the same songs a lot but they are sure loud. All Louisiana has is chicken places. Bill is happy about that but I want some steak tomorrow. We are supposed to go to Texas to get the load of lawnmowers on a trailer then we get to go accross Texas and then Arizona. Maybe you will see us, we will be in a Ryder truck with a trailer full of broken lawnmowers. Are there any good oldies stations that we missed las time?

thank you

Howard

KAZG-AM 1440 we get here on the northern limits of Marana (Tucson) and that puts us on the outer fringe of the daytime signal. At night you will be lucky to pick 1440 up 10 miles south of Chandler.

And that is with a good radio, on a good day... ;)

You guys might want to time your arrival for Tuesday... 111 degrees in Phx on Sunday.

If you're going through the Metroplex, there's (cue Charlie)...

"KLUV-FM Dallas/Fort Worth, an Infinity Broadcasting station"

...that was then, this is now (cue Charlie again)...

"KLUV, KLUV HD1 Dallas/Fort Worth, a CBS Radio station"

They did get the -FM suffix deleted a while ago.

DFW's version of South Mountain: Cedar Hill. But you also
will want to see the 12 towers for the AM 1190 nighttime site
in Rockwall, and the WBAP 820 stick in Bisbee (TX, not AZ)
just on principle as it's one of the (former) class 1A 50-gallon
blowtorches (I-CRAP aside ).

Yo Beav, at night you'll be lucky to pick up Lumberyard 1440
in the lumberyard, since the lamptimer overwhelmingly favors
pulling the plug rather than de-juicing down to 52 watts.

Just think about all those syndicated make good ads they could be playing at night with 52 watts!!!

I absolutely forgot that they sign-off at night. :'(

Driving a Ryder truck...eatin' chewy steaks at Ponderosa...and haulin' busted lawnmowers to Yuma. You lead the life only Nurse Jeff and I dream about every night! We're not sure how far Lumberyard 14~Forty gets out given the fact they don't have much of a ground system and there's plenty of stations to the left and right of 'em on the dial. But here in the Valley of the Esteemed Middle Eastern Men of the Media, Lumberyard 14~Forty is one kick-ass station that plays the very best worn out oldies in the market. Maybe that's why Gumpdusky yanks the plug at local sunset just to give us a rest. So get that gas-guzzler rental truck headed west on I-10 and we'll see you in a little while. Just be sure to bring plenty of quarters 'cause our Guv turned all the state highways into toll roads recently.

ps - we don't have a Ponderosa here, but you'll like Bill Johnson's...a lot of radio dinosaurs hang out there we hear ;)

Doc,

Us producer types can only afford Golden Corral... Let me know when you are havin' a party. ;D

Howard, when you are in Yuma, listen to oldies station KJOK 1400 (1 kW, ND 24 hours a day). I don't get them at home during the day, but they are one of the DX stations on 1400 I can get at night by nulling out local station KSUN.

Did somebody say "party"? Are we having a Radio-Info get-together, like the Atlanta board, and meeting Howard and Bill too? :D

Hi. We went to Longview Texas this morning to pick up this trailer that has lawnmowers on them.. They look like Dixie Choppers but they're not I don't think. We had steak and eggs at a nice Waffle place this morning really early, and drove over here to get these things. They are a mess man, all melted and messed up. I don't know what this guy is gonne do to make them look new. The guy we need to meet in Yuma is waiting for us on Friday morning so we have alittle time. Bill wants to go to San Angelo to some sports place that's there. He's nuts about sports stuff. I saw those 12 antennas the last time we were in Texas. Man alive they are so cool to see. We sent a picture to Scott Flybush but he didn;t proint it. I am bouncing all over here but this new EDGE card works okay I guess. You know it feels like I have some new friends there in Phoenix. I like typing to you guys. Thanks for being a firend of ours. Thanks for not laughing at us or thinkging we are fools or anything. We are only trying to make enough money to buy steaks and Llittle Debbie cakes and a bottle of Chocoliote drionk sometimes. Oh and oldies CDs too we have a lot of those too.

thank you

howard

Dear Howard,

You and Bill are welcome to pay us a visit at the Buckeye Media Hut on your way to Yuma. Nurse Jeff and I'll slap some Omaha steaks on the Geo Forman grille; cool down the R-uh-C colas; and make sure we're stocked up on those Little Debbies you guys like so much. We'll even give you that piece of crap lawn mower we purchased years ago at O'Malleys. Plus if you arrive before sunset, we'll have Lumberyard 14~Forty cranked up on the patio speakers!

So that's why Atlanta Radio/TV personnel get along so well...

If you do - DON'T invite the air-talent from a Korean station to light the grill.

He might spill the gas.
