Can we chill it with all the NEGATIVE stuff I've seen over the last couple of weeks about CBSFM??

OK, this is what it is FOR REAL:

As an "old-school CBSFM listener", I was VERY disheartened with the events of 6/3/05 - but I always kept hope and faith alive in my heart that this station would come back, and BOY, DID IT EVER COME BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!!!!.

Now I'm the FIRST one to admit that when they came back, I was in the "well, this don't sound like the old CBSFM" school of posting blah, blah, blah - but let me tell you - TODAY, I APPRECIATE CBSFM MORE THAN I EVER HAVE!! It's like what I tell people - this is a station that I can turn on, keep on, and listen to! The jocks are VERY entertaining (I'm a HUGE Ron Parker fan myself!) and the music is stuff I can get into....the Sunday Night Radio Greats are a welcome addition for this old-timer, but, honestly, this is a station that I AM HAPPY WITH and it grieves my heart when i see ALL the negative energy that's being spent on knocking this station - my take? if you don't like what you're hearing on CBSFM, TURN IT OFF, 'cos there are PLENTY OF US who are "thankful for what we've got!!"

Andrea,

I couldn't agree with you any more on what you said, ENOUGH

with the negative energy that is being expressed about WCBS-FM. It

seems to me that everybody complained when the station went of the

air, and now they are still complaining now that it is back. As I have

always learned "it is what it is". Yes I myself would love nothing more

then see the station return to the Joe Mcoy programing glory days ,but

as we all know for the station to survive today that most likely will

never happen.

Right on Andrea

As Elvis would say - thank you...thank you very much....

;D

Andrea,

And the best is yet to come for WCBS-FM 101.1 New York.

The station is playing more 50's and 60's music than they did two years ago.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

Hey, Kevin....

you're STILL NOT GETTING MY POINT; no matter WHAT happens with CBSFM in terms of the music mix, I am VERY HAPPY with the way the station is and sounds today!! :)

Andrea...

You may not "hear it" online, but I am giving you THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE!! You're a better person than I am in the sense that I did have a hard time with the new 'KTU when it launched back in 1996, 4 years after we've lost Hot 97 to hip-hop/r&b. But for you to accept 'CBS as it is, even though the current version may not sound like it did pre: 6-3-05, is a true testament to the type of fan that you are!

Raising my glass to you! :)

Thanks, Tony, but to quote Edie Brickell and New Bohemians, "What I am is what I am"...

What I'm trying to say is this, I am about as OLD-SCHOOL AN ORIGINAL CBSFM FAN AS THEY COME!! Believe me, when the station came back 7-12-07, I had a VERY VERY HARD time accepting the way the station was (and if you know me at all, you don't have to ask me why.....) But I've come to a point (with a little help) of basically saying "you know what, I'm thankful for what I've got, and I'm going to ENJOY 101 THE WAY IT IS!! It is a GOOD station and the mix they're playing is the RIGHT mix for this time - and besides which, I can still be "Andrea from Brooklyn, New York" and be the "elder stateswoman" as it is among our oldies-based listeners - besides which, I'm a HIT WITH THE JOCKS, NEED I SAY MORE??

I root for you and the dance music community that you are SO STRONGLY a part of, that you would have the SAME success in bringing back ORIGINAL 'KTU and then some!! BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!! (and yes, I do hear the applause!! :) )

Andrea: Many of us in the oldies community know and respect your vast knowledge of the music we've come to love. It's a given you're a walking Google girl and we're the better for it.

I would suggest however, the practice of modesty. Good to see you love WCBS-FM and all of their infamous djs. It's not doubted they love and respect you. The issue here is "less is more."

I guarantee your message will be heard and the writer will be remembered.

"Good Enough" Seldom is.

Urging people on to greatness is never wrong. Glad you love "What is", but it costs nothing and well may urge people to press onward to a better radio station. What if everyone was "happy just to have the oldies on CBS FM HD2"? There wouldn't have been a CBS-FM 101.1 that there is today. Good is OK, Better is Great, Great will be outstanding.

WCBS-FM plus New York also has WABC's Saturday Night Oldies (with host Mark Simone).

Like they said about soup and sandwiches (and peanut butter and fluffernutter
They compliment one another, and you don't want one without the other.

GOTTA LOVE IT!
