Are you still gonna be the voice of 92.3 when they unveil the new K-Rock moniker?

I will not comment on anything at this time. I can tell you as a rock fan, and life-long local Clevelander, I am excited for local rock radio right now. Things may get very interesting, and I can't wait to listen to it all! (Is that a good politician's answer or what?!) lol Seriously though, hopefully a good old fashioned radio war will come of this change, and that means some great radio may be coming our way!

Oh, and thanks for letting the cat out of the bag, Chuck Mathews... I know my voice and imaging sucks! For God's sake, keep quiet about that! We don't want the whole city to know! ;) lol - I still love ya Chucker!

So, this is my last post for now. I will start a thread when the time is right. Until then, happy speculating, and keep those rumors coming! I love every second of it.
______________

old fashioned radio war? That has happened, and as a result X, or Xtm, or Extreme is changing formats, or making changes-- again. This won't be a war- They will just try and find their niche because they can't beat MMS. MMS should be cheering that 923 will be sharing less and less music, and audience.

You dont suck. I just meant that to be competitive it needs to be better. More importantly the writing, and possibly the assembly. You're assembly is pretty good as well, is you're VO. In fact I like it. I've contacted you about plug in settings etc b/c I like your sound. Writing is key to any imaging. But let's face it, anything shared from KROQ (and Pittsburgh) will certainly up the ante for 92. And Jake Kaplan is one of the best Creative Directors in rock radio. That's not to say they'll hire him (I think he has a gig). I was just using his work as an example. Again, not to say you suck.

As I learned playing football (Lakewood HS, Mount Union, Cleveland Lions), there's ALWAYS someone bigger, faster and stronger. Same for creative. I consider myself to be fairly good. But can certainly acknowledge others that are better. I use their stuff as learning tools...steal it, twist it, etc. But I can never be them and think like they do. I've tried for years to get inside Joel Moss's head (WEBN) to figure out how he comes up with his ideas. I just can't.

While I'm here let me throw props to Miles (and Bo) @ WMMS. Great stuph! When I come to Cleveland I always look forward to hearing MMS' latest imaging. I can do it online, but nothing like driving around listening.

Radio War?

Well...I think they'll both still be playing rock music and probably still going after a very similar demo....so definitely still gonna be some competitive spirit between the two. But I think that if 923 is smart they'll push themselves as far away as possible from WMMS as far as music goes....they've been trying for years to beat The Buzzard at their own game, and it hasn't happened.

I really do believe though there is a strong percentage of the 18-34 audience that wants to hear the more "altnerative" sounding rock, both old and new...heavy on variety with deeper cuts...and just a few harder edged songs mixed in to keep everyone awake (Rage, SOAD). Smart sounding DJs and witty imaging are a big plus too. Will it be enough to eventually overtake the Buzzard and make 923 a ratings player....who knows. But will it make rock radio on the FM dial much more interesting and fun.....you betcha!!

On a side note I am kinda digging this whole 923 on random thing, lots of great songs being played, and I notice they are playing full album versions of the tracks...not radio edits. The dead-segues actually don't sound that bad, and the variety is awesome. Hoping that the new format is just kind of a tuned up version of this. Guess we'll find out in about a week!!
______________
