...I wanted to get your input on CC's experiment into the Christian market. What is your thoughts on Channel 1023 "The River" after it's first full day of regular programming?

They arnt really that bad for a contemporary Christian radiostation, I just dont really see how Austin can support *up to* 5 Christian radio stations, I listened to them a little bit, seems to be much like K-love, which is on 106.3 & 92.1. They seem to be a little softer then what KSBJ plays.

Really? Softer than KSBJ....I was thinking that they would go with a harder, edgier Christian format such as Christian Rock. There's a format dying to break out into the mainstream. Shame they are missing the boat on that one, considering what you said about Austin already having 5 Christian outlets. Thanks jras20.

I'm doing a aircheck of them now if you want to check them out, I do airchecks at 64kbps stereo mp3 depending on how well the station comes in, I record either 45min or a hour, probably a hour on this one, you can email me if you want to check it out,

this is my 1,000 post! :)

I'd like to give it a listen. I don't have your e-mail, mine is [email protected]. Congratulations on the 1,000th post. Thanks jras20.

They do stream....

In that vein, "day two" seemed "better" than "day one." However, that's a very strange idea considering that both days were surely scheduled a couple of weeks ago from the same library....and not that it's rock....

I think it is pretty typical of Clear Channel to make stupid decisions and this will likely be yet another flop on their part. As jras said, we have like 4 or 5 Christian outlets here already. Granted not ALL are citygrade, it still makes you wonder why that format was chosen. I could think of at least three other formats that would have made sense at 102.3 which has an excellent metro Austin signal.

Oldies
Pure Rock (to compete against the nearly dead KROX)
La Preciosa - This would be my pick rather than Hurban.
