Hey Jude, not a Beatles Tune?

Just read a story centering around a report from John Riley on Big Oldies 93 radio in Peoria that Hey Jude was a song written by an unknown doo wop group known as The Zephyrs. Apparently Paul McCartney admitted to taking the song and crediting it to the Fab Four. Story came out yesterday April 1.
Joke or no joke?

Any info by anyone? Thanx.

Seeing what date we're talking about, more than likely a joke, but it is amazing how far back some songs go, some back to the 20s and 30s.<P ID="signature">______________
