Hey KOOL...Where's Jack?

Has KOOL-FM dropped Camelback Jack from its airstaff again?

The website now shows (weekender) Freddie Colon doing 7-midnight.

I also heard a "new" voice on Sunday evening. Didn't catch a name,
but was it former KOOL part-timer Alicia Torres? (Sounded like her.)

I hope Jack's departure was of his own doing. Truly a class act and definitely missed on KOOL.

Jack may be back...but apparently just on weekends. He's on this afternoon (Saturday).

I thought something might be up when yesterday there were photos posted on the KOOL
website of a commercial remote--with Camelback Jack.

But this also begs the question, where's Katfish (with a "K") Kris Kelly on Sat/Sun? And
Steve Trella seems have been reduced from Sat/Sun to just a Sunday show.

He was at the Sanderson All Ford Car show on 10/01 for KOOL.

Personally, I perfer Freddie over Jack. Freddie is much more lively and a better fit for the format. Jack also sounded like he was on voice track and really gruff and tended to spout off on his poltical views.

I always loved hearing Camelback Jack, certainly an institution in Phoenix radio, and besides that, I think he is great. I still miss hearing him on the afternoon shift.

As much as I enjoyed Camelback Jack for years, my favorite announcer in Phoenix right now, is hands down, Jeffrey T Mason, doing mid days at KOOL now. He's everything I wish I could ever be, very "unannouncerish", brilliant, conversational....etc.

If you haven't listened to Jeffrey, check him out. He can make the weather entertaining, his whole show shines.
