How are you liking your Kiss FM? I have not seen any posts about it lately. For those who are fimilar with Kiss FM here in Dallas/Fort Worth, how do the two compare?

Honestly, I think for the most part, it sounds the exact same as Z102 did (same crappy music), except with Kiss FM jingles. This will be the first time that I will say I actually enjoy the syndicated material more than the local material. I love the tunes that are played on the Party Playhouse. I think the syndicated playlist is much better than the local one. The syndicated playlist reminds me more of the Kiss FM I listened to when I lived in Dallas.

But outside the Bobby Bones show and Party Playhouse, it still sounds like the same old Z102.

I believe that Party Playhouse is from Kiss FM here.

Party Playhouse is syndicated from KISS FM in Dallas. The host, Jackson Blue is also doing a night show via voice track on Kiss 108 in Boston, where he used to work before being promoted to KHKS. Both stations are owned by Clear Channel.

Bobby Bones comes from KISS FM in Austin which is also Clear Channel owned.

I have to disagree with the "sounds the same" comment. First, if you put the morning and night shows together that's half the day. Secondly it seems they've done a good job of incorporating the national KISS elements (for better or worse). I think it was a very successful re-boot. Only time will tell if it works but to comment on another thread, at least it's not another station running 80's weekends.

Have to disagree with ya there Ol Nick.
It's successful only from the standpoint that the Z102 imaging has been replaced with KISS FM imaging. Oh, that and the addition of a syndicated night slot.

But successful as a radio station? I'd be suprised if a simple name change does the trick.
KZII still has not addressed the issues. Still no advertising, billboards or otherwise, other than a few sponsored events at local car dealers. KZII lacks sufficient elements for a CHR (there should be top hour IDs, and elements between EVERY song), the promos aren't being updated, the rotation sounds repetitive and stale, and that kid from Amarillo needs to at least attempt to get the station's website address correct. Hey, how about fixing that high pitched feedback sound in the audio? I mean how do you expect people to take you seriously if you can't even get the sound right?

Honestly, if that's what GAP considers "a success," than it is a wonder that some other station in Lubbock hasn't taken on Mainstream CHR yet.

Do they really think that just changing the name and calling it a day will win back listeners? That shows that GAP doesn't think too highly of their listeners' intelligence. How about putting in some overtime and making the station entertaining? It's the kid of thinking you'd expect from another local company...

I'm not trying to make it personal or bash anyone, but you have to do more than just slap a KISS FM sticker on the old pick up truck. 102.5 has much more potential, it is a shame, imo.

Hmmmm? I wonder who Old Nick works for? ;D

..and I have to wonder who "terriblejock" works for...oh that's right...NOBODY. How about we stick with the thread instead of playing Nancy Drew. And for the rest of you, Grant did an excellent job of dissecting his thoughts (be they right or wrong) on the KISS FM change on the other board.
