"Hey, Nice Pole!"

It's December 23rd, a banner day on the Calendar... it's Festivus, the Holiday for the rest of us.

I hope all enjoy a Festivus miracle, as we eat, drink, and engage in The Airing of Grievances. And, just be warned. My list this year is very long -- VERY LONG, INDEED.

Just remember - if one is invited to a Festivus celebration, it is customary to compliment the host (albeit sarcastically) on his beautiful pole. "Hey, Joe. Nice pole!" But, never, EVER, compare the size of your pole to his. It's just not done. Showing pictures of one's pole is also frowned upon.

Why can't WRVR give us at least one day of Festivus music? Come one... just one day's break from the Amy Grant stuff? Please?

Enjoy.

Am I too late for the feats of strength? Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum! (Craaaccckkk) Oof!

Isn't one of the traditional Festivus gifts a "Bro-zierre?"
Is the traditional Festivus Queen known as "Mulva" or am I mixing my episodes?

You are mixing episodes.

No gifts are expected on Festivus. If they are exchanged, they consist if items neither the giver, nor the receiver would want. The classic example of a Festivus gift would be an old Chap Stick one finds in a jacket, let over from a nearly-forgotten ski trip. The more lint, the better.

I have erected a pole in my home. Really. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=55964356814

Nice pole, DE!

DE-over the last year there have been times when we looked to you to squash some "johnny come lately" who wanted to get on the board and get all lippy with us-and you've showed mercy and let them slide.
This has been disappointing at times.

and Rob...even with your keen memory of the golden days of Memphis radio, I seem to recall once or twice your standing in the same corner as "He whose named shall not be mentioned." This is most disappointing.

(I didn't want to miss out on the "Airing of Grievances" portion of out little celebration.) ;D

I'll go you one better, Meep. I believe I actually had the audacity to say something nice about Steve Conley at one point this year. No wonder I have been cast upon the ash heap of radio time!
