Hey Russ,I hope you don't go through with this.

Amazing, isn't it, how some people's potty training just never seems to take. Hoping that he will be content with all the notice he's receiving on his "plan," but somehow that doesn't seem to be enough.

And well said, Plex, the young folks don't need to be dragged into another of RM's meaningless, self-serving escapades.

Um, and that was a bit, too, when Russ told listeners to overload the WBAP news line and David Gold's show to complain about Dan doing the news there a few weeks back???? There's no love lost there, and Dan, Lord love 'em, refuses to crawl under a rock or leave the market to avoid further Russ altercations. And to think, these guys WERE best buddies all the way back to high school. I just can't see that Dan is the one with the problem here. It's just another example of an ego gone ballistic, and no one who's riding the Russ Bus to Fame and Fortune has the b@lls to put a stop to it or strip him of his power. They all just sit there and thank their lucky stars that it's not THEM who's getting the psychological beating.

Once the day comes that Russ loses his show and his power and becomes a local has-been, and ultimately takes his own life over the trauma, will the listeners be able to put the whole Russ Martin experience in perspective. Nah, you guys will make a martyr out of him instead and will find some way to implicate Dan in his "murder." And JD and Russ's shrink will race to the publisher to see who can get their book out first.

The Joe Pyne's and Morton Downey's and Freddie Mertz's (not the "Lucy" kind) of the world will all tell you (posthumously, in some cases) that the fame doesn't last forever, and that the fall is a real b!tch. Freebie, I don't expect you to accept all this and agree with me, and I'd rather avoid another cussing match between us. I'll end my comments on the subject here.

Yes, there will be some Russ fans who will defend his actions, and they will be spurred on by Russ to come to this discussion group, and use their metaphors. Alice is correct, fame is fleeting and once Russ loses his he will receive the vindictiveness that is well suited for him. Russ just needs to let go of his childish antics against Dan,especially in a public forum. It's like a high school spat where the girl dumps the guy and he can't handle it. Dan appears to be doing well and it appears Russ is obsessed with it. Anger management Russ.

While some people will pound their chest and say that Dan is being picked on, this bit will help drive people to see his play, so he will see a benefit from the bit as well. You can love or hate Russ, I'm just glad his foundation is there to help the family of the fallen police officers with a check to help out until their benefits kick in..........

> Helping Police officers and Operation Kindness for animals are two wonderful things he does. Unfortunately it's the other things like his childish antics towards Dan that undo the good he does elsewhere. His friendship with Dan is over he needs as one pointed to "grow up" and move on.

I am in know way a Russ apologist, but his "childish antics" undo the fact that his listener's foundation gives out $15,000 to the family of fire fighters/police officers who die in the line of duty? You have got to be "kidding" me!

And another case of doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons. The longtime rumor "backstage" is that all of his attentiveness to the needs of police officers comes from making good on a plea bargain to get a DWI charge dropped. That's why it's an established "foundation" and not just a generic pledge to help out the police when things go bad. But that's probably old news.

Russ..DWI?? No way it was a defective batarang that caused the incident when he was driving down the sidewalk in Pleasant Grove according to Chief O'Hara;).
