hhh

Jet..having an opinion is not an attack. He is the very best local morning talk show host in the market, feel better?
One more time, I have nothing against the guy just not what I want when I fire up talk radio. I do admire that his first day at work he came on the bus and today drives a ride much much nicer than yours. He worked his way up and that is always the best way go get to the top.

thar yeeee go..i know a guy that started in radio here in tha 60's and he used to walk to work and he only owned one tennis shoe...now he owns a 1979 vw beetle so it takes hard work

A '79 Beetle is probably worth as much as an '85 928 these days.

You can not take away what HHH has acomplished over a long period of time in the Knoxville market.

you can't take away what CP & Walker have accomplished either.

They started out listening to radio and still do today.

You can t take away what Booby Bobby Denton accomplished when he played top 40 on the very old IVK AM. Gotta love any guy that names himself BOOBY!

Hal Hill is what he is and tant we all?

Now lets all talk about how good we were at one time? Remember no matter how bad you were the longer you hang around in folks minds you actually get better. Yep Folks have kind hearts don t they!

If anyone wants a radio job and can work with the the Devil in Hell naked and covered with high test..word is 850 is hiring!

Sooner or later, probably sooner HHH will be back on 100.3. There is no way Knoxville can support 2 FM talk stations and 100.3 with that huge signal will probably be the winner with 98.7 going to a music format again.

Trapper will 100 fire Ed and Bob to bring him over? What if his numbers drop as in REALLY drop, will he be worth the price? Just wondering?

I doubt Ed planned/plans on being on air for the long term.

Interesting point. In a perfect world Ed would still be on Old Kingston Pike keeping things real until he wanted to retire.

Under his new job, he'll likely get to step into whatever role he wants whenever he wants. Considering he's one of the best GM's in the country and has a track record to prove it, he likely got a sweet deal.

And to all you young'uns on this board: Retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. If you have something you like to do outside of radio, it helps. Otherwise you'll sit around and get rusty. Once that happens, the grim reaper isn't far away.

More than 12 hours of silence on this board. Don't fear the reaper.

Time to get the party started again....

98.7's first sale on the north half of its coverage area? How about Appalachia Habitat Resale Store in Sunbright?

I guess that will be good for Appalachia Habitat Resale store in Sunbright. The 10 or so people who can pick up 98.7 signal will know about them. I hope they don't pay more than 2 bucks for 30 spots. Maybe the Wartburg Chamber of Commerce can get a few PSA's with them.

To which Big Bopper adds:
Ya know...I was just thinking about that today. How long will Ed want to be on the air? Before we rush to think he and Bob would leave the station if they left the show, let's consider that they both are, first and foremost, sales reps and managers, and that is where the money is! With today's computer automation, a couple of old radio guys can knock out a 4-hour show between six and 7, have coffee, and hit the streets. I will bet they will be on the air for as long as it is working...and I expect it to work, big time, for a long time!

Any truth to rumor that HHH is going to Nashville to work for Haslam if Bill wins in November?

I hear that same rumor everywhere I go these days. I wish him well in his new adventure.

If HHH lives in the city limits, the mayor works for HIM doesn't he?

Or if HHH has to work to pay property taxes, does that mean he ALREADY works for Haslam?

And, WJ, EVERYWHERE is the place THEY reside.

/CAPS LOCK returning to normal now

Heard that rumor three times on this board alone. Must be something to it.
