Great line. And it is one used by a lot of people. But it's a better place to learn radio (especially in the summer) than Wilmington and Xenia were, where I started out.
I haven't seen E. or Ted in a long time, when they used to locate right at the bottom of the escelator in the New Orleans Hilton during the NAB to talk to clients. I hear Jim Scott all the time..
WSAI was THE station where I wanted to be the star. All thru high school at Princeton, I idolized 'SAI. In 1975, I was in college, with a little bit of radio experience (including a year at 'TUE in Dayton), and was contacting Cincinnati stations looking for part time. Robin Mitchell wouldn't give me the time of day, but this new FM trying to be Top 40 had a punk first time PD who took the time to talk to me - even thou he lost my aircheck. Randy Michaels went on to other things, but he sure taught me a lot.
Thanks for the note. Do we know each other?
