High Def Question

Having just made the plunge into a high def television system, I was wondering the following while watching the NCAA tournaments this weekend. First nothing beats a high def broadcast. How come a game comes on not broadcast in high def and then the next game from the same venue is in high def? Seems like all the equipment is in place so why would they not broadcast both games in high def? Hard to go back after watching high def.

Because CBS aparantly does not have the ability to switch viewers from site-to-site in HD. The game that you are supposed to get in your local area will be in HD, the other three that they may switch you to will not be, although they are in the markets that got the game from the start.

The exception was the Jacksonville site last weekend, where I'm told there were problems with the HD equipment and the entire thing was in SD.
