"High Def radio: you get what you paid for"

"Granted, most people don't care about radio... the Radiosophy unit sounded pretty thin and crackled at higher volumes. The unit takes about fifteen seconds to hone in on digital signals. Even at low volumes you could hear a bit of static. The control knobs are tough to figure out too."

Cost-to-benefit-ratio for HD Radio is about zero ! Be sure to check out the comments ! :D

I respectfully disagree with the HD100 assessment. I have not experienced any static, or crackling noise whatsoever with my unit. Additionally, my radio locks in on the digital signal after about 2 to 3 seconds, and stays locked on to it. I am not saying it is a perfect radio, but for the price, it does what it is designed to do! I am sure there are many other people who will concur with my experience on it. John E B

I just received my 2nd HD-100 from Radiosophy. There was a problem with the volume control on the first radio received. The reception on the radio is very good. It is somewhat better than the CC Plus radio in terms of sensitivity and selectivity and much better at rejecting strong signals. Unlike the CC Radio, strong signals do not bleed all over the band. My GE SuperRadio is slightly more sensitive. Most of the HD signals in the Cincinnati are easily receivable without the whip antenna extended. For a few low powered or more distant signals, the whip must be extended. The radio takes 2-5 seconds to lock in the HD signal - how that is relevant is beyond me, i.e. Pocket Radio's link to a reviewer's comment. The HD-100 is a very good to excellent receiver in terms of receiver performance. My comments refer strictly to FM.
