A portable radio I've used since it was first released for sale years ago- the CCrane SW, has above average performance, at any price.
Pros=Excellent sensitivity. Decent audio.Fast/slow tuning.Bandwidth selection(am/sw only). Bass/treble controls.Moderate price.NO HD!
Cons=FM selectivity is a bit too wide. Flimsy handle will break.Rotary switches flimsy.Signal meter only 5 segments.NO HD!(LOL)
FM sensitivity is a match, or better than most all car radios, will work fine with antenna down for locals*.Excellent FM audio(for portable).Only the
discontinued Eton($400.00) was "slightly" better. AM reception very good, but the bandwidth on the "narrow" setting a bit too wide.A match ,or
better than my discontinued ($599.00) Sony ICF77. If you're interested, CCrane has 'em on sale-$124.99. Also @ Universal Radio, reg. price.
