Highest Paid Announcer in Seattle

> Who is it currently?

What kind of announcer? Voice over or jock?

The most common voice over I hear on stations around WA is Joe Michaels. Don't know if he's the highest paid, but I hear him everywhere.

As for jocks, I think it's probably Bob Rivers.

to clarify...

Jock or Talk Show Host....probably IS Rivers...

Re: to clarify...

Rivers is overpaid. If Infinity had to choose between "Bob Rivers", "Classic Rock" or "KZOK" I think they'd shell out the most bucks for the call letters, followed by the music positioning. Rivers would be a distant third.

The morning show is an add on. I wouldn't lose a wink if Rivers bolted to Entercom after Stern steals a good slice of KISW's audience penning them to the bird.

As for "Howard Stern" I'd take him over calls and positioning. And picking an identity is cost effective as compared to investing in AM drive. That's what spooks VP's! Would retaining Rivers really mean anything more than saving face and, maybe, keeping a few thousand P1's glued to a stagnant franchise or would something new, different and (drumroll please....BOMP!) outside the market make you a hero or pariah. Rivers makes big bucks because of this.

Hey it's in the budget.

You wont see Rivers bolting to KISW in this decade as a long term deal with Infinity was announced two weeks ago.But you may be right to assume he's a little overpaid. He gets alot of help doing his show from a large and talented crew but my guess is he brings in the bulk of the coin.

Approx Pay for Rivers, Ichabod, etc...

How much are we talking about here?...also in comparason to the other morning jocks?...

I think T-Man has them all beat...

This Board keeps repeating topics. This was a topic
a few months ago. Here were the stats as I remember them:

1. Rivers 2 million a year (though he just signed a deal for more)
2. Savage 1.4 million a year (to sit out for two more years)
3. T-Man 1.4 million a year (rumored to have signed a new deal for less)
4. Robin and John 1.5 million as a team
5. Stern 1.25 million for the syndicated show.
6. Fastlane and Burns (negotiating and will get 1.5 as a team at least with
three stations going after them. KJR-FM, KBSG and an out of market. KLSY
has re-signed Mitch to a sweet deal so are out of the running.

Biggest losers: Ichabod and Kent and Alan who signed lowball contracts. Wonder
what that says about their abilities???Jackie and Bender are rumored to have
signed a cheapo deal just to keep their jobs. By staying cheap these three shows
get to keep their jobs.

Biggest surprises: How little the talk guys on AM or FM get paid and a couple of shows that are up and coming that did big deals: Mitch of MIX and BJ Shea on the BUZZ are just under the top tier. Shows their companies have faith in them.
