Highest rated CHR's in the country

My local CHR, Boston's Kiss 108 WXKS (supposedly the "original" Kiss, but that might go to KIIS in LA) is killing in the ratings, pulling down 10.0's for the past few PPM months in a row. With no other CHR competition in town, they are making a killing. They have to be one of the top rated Top 40/CHR stations in the country.. Is there any other CHR station doing better than 10.0's? I would think it would be a rare occurrence.

It's gotta be rare for such a large market station

Kiss 108 is one of the luckiest CHRs in the country though - no other CHRs to compete with, only one Rhythmic (owned by the same company), and no Urbans

I'll take that "Best CHR In The Country" with a grain of salt. As another poster mentioned, being the only CHR in town with only a urban competetor thats in the same cluster. Thats a easy road to ratings victory and any PD's wet dream. Then add the fact it's a heritage station. That makes it a huge uphill climb for any upstart CHR to plant their flag in Beantown. Of course they are up in the 10's in the PPM..Does'nt mean they are great. KYLD in San Francisco benefited from the same situation. No other rhythmic competetor except HIP/HOP and R&B powerhouse KMEL for years. Both are under the CC cluster and few titles on their playlists crossed each other. Then low and behold, CBS launches a Rhythmic/CHR on a flamethrower signal (99.7) and attracts some former talented x-KYLD jocks and now KYLD is in a battle for it's survival.

With all due respect to Kiss 108, I can't think of any other major market CHR in the country that literally has had no competition in over 20 years (except for a co-owned station)

What about Y100 Miami? I know there's a rhythmic there in Powe 96, but when was the last time a CHR/pop has competed against them? Same with WFLZ Tampa.

I don't know about these days, but the last time I heard Y-100 a couple years ago they sounded Rhythmic to me, just lighter on the Hip Hop titles than Power.

I was in Miami this past summer...Y-100 is straight up mainstream CHR....they pretty much played all the hits...perhaps a slight dance lean...but they do not shy away from any genre as long as it's a hit

^Y100 has an Urban and a Rhythmic competing against it - Kiss 108 has nothing competing against it (except a Rhythmic co-owned by Clear Channel)
