HIPPIE POWERS UP ??

KrOnic - you be correct, "Jack Flash" is new to Hippie as of this week and will be doing AM and PM traffic. There will be some more pretty awesome news coming soon to some additional additions that will shock and awe Music City.

Can't imagine who might shock and awe Music City except for Gerry House and Carl P. Maybe Proud Mary.

I'd rather hear Lucky laugh at himself give it a go at entertaining as opposed to the automated "song, sweeper, song, commercial, commercial, sweeper, song, etc." As for the signal, it still fades dramatically on Charlotte around Nashville West. I guess it is aiming higher and the lower area there is overshot.
Lucky seems to think that song intros exist just for him to talk over! ::)

I am in west Nashville all the time, and never have any signal issues there, except for when they have transmitter issues.

I work in West Nashville and can't recall ever having trouble picking it up other than transmitter problems, yet once you get past downtown Nashville (especially I-24/Murfreesboro Road Exit and beyond), it a lot like the 102.5 The Game, hit and miss until Smyrna/Lavergne area, where you lose both.

The only major "Nashville" station that I have ever really had signal issues with was 94.1, even back when I lived near Harding Mall. At that time, they were simulcasting Lightning 100, which I listened to on their "main" signal, 100.1. I was able to hear 93.7, which at that time was the Phoenix, just fine from over there.

Lightning's signal is iffy from out here in Pegram where I live now, but with Retro Lightning gone, who cares anymore? ::)

As for Hippie, I agree with the earlier sentiments about Spider Harrison. I remember hearing him on WLAC from down in west Tennessee back when I used to live there. When Hippie first came on the air, they heavily promoted Spider, but that was apparently because he is their only dj with any real Nashville connection. All of the rest of them appear to be Indiana transplants, save for Joe Case, but he is primarily their weather man, although he just happens to have a weekend airshift as well.
