Hispanic Radio Comes to Acadiana

Saturday afternoon I turned the radio on to hear some great classic country from KSLO AM 1230 and realized it was gone. Apparently a format switch took place over the weekend. Friday it was country, Saturday afternoon it was hispanic...Johnny Wright must be flipping in his grave. What's next for Delta Media...hmmm? ??? ???

Makes sense. A little birdie told me that Pittman is unloading his Lafayette stations to Delta. It was only a matter of time before the great doctor ended up having to accept pennies on the dollar to get out of Lafayette.

yeah but wouldn't that possibly put delta over the limit? 87.7 don't count as it's a tv station, but other owners can file as opelousas stations are heard in the Lafayette metro and put him toward the limit or over?

Based on my understanding of the ownership rules, Delta can have 4 FM and 2 AM stations. KSLO AM may or may not be deemed a Lafayette station based on its signal strength in Lafayette. KSLO FM surely wouldnt count.

KXKW also flipped to Modern/Recurrent Country.

So keeping score on Country:
Modern and/or Recurrent:
KXKW - DELTA
KMDL - TOWNSQUARE
KXKC - CUMULUS
KFXZ - PITTMAN.

Oldies and Classic Country is now out of Lafayette. 3 conservative talk radio stations, no progressive talk. We're going back not forward.
Thanks a million DELTA!
