History Formats of WFME

Was wondering what the history of WFME formats was...I believe there were different call laters around 1961 as a 1960s country station. Anyone know what they were before they were Country ? Could we see the return of 1960s Country Music on WFME ?

In the WFME Wikipedia article, country is not mentioned, but it does mention jazz, classical, and easy listening at that time (when it was WNTA-FM).

Ah, perhaps when it became WJRZ-FM in 1962 they added country into the mix.

WJRZ didn't become country until 1965. While the WJRZ people owned the station until 1966, they brokered out their time to Family Stations starting in 1963 (which was when the calls became WFME). If there was country at 94.7 it was on a very limited basis.

Iirc, 970, 94.7, and #13, were under the same ownership for a time.
