I thought it would be interesting to try and compose a list of all the different jocks/shows that occupied day parts over the 32 years of 96rock. Anybody remember exact dates on the ones below that I don't have dates to as well as all the jocks/shows that came before the ones listed below (I just have parts of the late 90s onwards)

96rock Mornings:
- Chris Rude
- John Boy and Billy
- The Regular Guys (98 - Mar 2004)
- Bob & Tom (May 2004 - Apr 2005)
- The Regular Guys (May 2005 - Oct 2006) (Fin did Mid-Oct - Mid-Nov 06)

96rock Middays:
- Willard
- Ditch
- Johnny Turner
- Tim Rhodes
- Fin (Aug 04 - Oct 06) (English Nick did Mid-Oct - Mid-Nov 06)

96rock Afternoons:
- Kaedy Kiely
- Chris Rude
- Dick and Justice (Feb 03 - Jul 04)
- Southside & Rhodes (Aug 04 - Dec 05)
- Jennifer Reed (May 06 - Mid-Nov 06) (Mr. Bill did Jan 06 - Apr 06)

96rock Nights:
- Alan Ayo
- Tim Rhodes
- BC & Bubba, BC & Woody, BC & Missi---I don't remember any of these variations and it was on during 2003 when I listened at nights a lot- were these local personalities? (Loveline followed at 11pm from Mar 99 - Aug 04)
- Big Rig

96rock Overnights:
- Big Woody
- Uncle Jesse
- English Nick (Jason Gore did Mid-Oct - Mid-Nov 06)

I'll do my best to remember. It was a long time ago and I wasn't nearly as sober as I am now.

Early 80's, maybe somewhere between '82-'84...

Mark McCain, Steve Mitchell-Mornings
John Boy Bryant--Middays
Kady Kiely-Afternoons
Willard-Evenings
Greg ?--Overnights(I think)

The morning show back then was one of the best ever in the history of Atlanta radio.
At least my memory tells me that. The guy that did the character voices for all the bits on the morning show was one of the best ever. I know someone will remember his name.

John Boy would always end his show with "Come get me mother I'm through"

And the perfect album side. I sent in several but never had any played. 96 would give away the $50 Turtles gift coins to the person who had theirs played I think.

Willard also would play the REM song "It's the end of the world as we know it" and dedicate it to all the earth dogs and so on... Can anyone refresh my memory on that.

That was a magical time in my mind in Atlanta radio.

Side note to this was that I actually had the opportunity to do a morning show with Mark McCain in the late 80's. After he came back to Atlanta from St. Louis, he worked briefly with our station on the southside Magic 96.7. Yes, the same 96.7 that CC bought and moved to Atlanta years later. I had a great time learning from Mark even though he didn't stay long. He was a great guy with one of the best voices in Atlanta.

Unless I'm having a brain cramp, I think that would have been Greg Clarkson. And Alan Ayo on weekends IIRC.

As for the morning, I think I preferred Bear Man & Mitchell to McCain/Mitchell, but darned if I can recall the timeline. Did Bear Man/Mitchell follow Ross & Wilson maybe?

Back in the 70s, the afternoon guy was Dean Clark. I think he was the originator of the comment of "come and get me mother" at the end of the show. A very laid back guy that only said what was needed to be said... a different time in radio for sure.

Kady Kiely-Afternoons

So did she occupy the afternoon drive slot from around 1983 all the way until 1997/1998 when Rude returned for afternoons?

In 1997, Willard & Kady Kiley where let go by 96Rock & ended up at Z-93 until it channged to Dave-Fm in 2004.
In 1998, Chris Rude was let go & replaced by John Boy & Billy. Rude returned in 2000 to afternoons on 96Rock & mornings on Mix 105 something. Rude left again in 2002 on his own. Contract dispute.

Clear Channel purchased 96rock in late 1990s. That started the diownfall of 96Rock.

Skinny Bobby Harper was doing mornings in 1979 -- when he wasn't moonlighting doing color on Atlanta Flames broadcasts.

Greg Clarkson sounds right. Thanks Middle.

I remember Ross and Wilson on Z-93, but I don't recall them on 96.

I don't know if any exist, but it would be interesting to hear some of the shows from 20-30 years ago to see if they were as good as I remember. For many things that is usually not the case.

Tom T., I know you remember much of the history of 96 because you were part of it. Any idea if any recordings would be floatin' around?

Kevin Alston. Great guy. Incredible talent. I worked with him on his first radio gig. Wonder what he is doing now?

Steve Maple from late 1980s/early 1990s.

I remember the voice but cannot remember the name. He was the evening dj from 1982. He moved on to WDIZ Rock 100 Orlando & WSHE Fort Lauderdale/Miami.(Both stations no longer exist).

Art Madman Merhing reporting on traffic for 96Rock after Dave FM showed him the door.

There are some others, I have to jump into a time machine built out of Delorean & go back to past 3 decades to remember.

Greg Clarkston hosted the "Dark Side" overnights before going to 680 The Fan.

Ack. Good grief, I had Clarkson right ... but followed up with a whopper of a brain cramp about R&W.

Wendall Brown was Bobby Harper's partner on that Morning show.
I believe the morning guy on 96rock in about 1976 was Jeff Winter.Anyone remember him ?

Wendall Brown, forgot about him. Where is he nowadays?
I hope the late Skinny Bobby Harper & the late Keith Kalhand are hanging out in Radio Heaven.
Jules, ohh yeah, what did happen to her?

Isnt Radical Bradford the radio name for Kirk Donovan? The media buyer/agency guy who voices half the local spots in Atlanta radio?

Also had Blake "Blade Runner" doing nights before Ayo. Nick & Jeff I think did mornings as well back in the 80's Chris, Willard, Kaedy, & Greg all had long runs.
